Jacalyn Lund is professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Georgia State University. During 16 years of public school teaching, Lund experienced many of the problems faced by teachers, which led to her interest in accountability and assessment in her higher education career. Throughout her career, she has focused her efforts on making physical education an essential part of the school curriculum and on improving teacher effectiveness. She served on the committee that developed the National Content Standards for Physical Education in 1995 and was president of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE). In 2012, she was inducted into the NASPE Hall of Fame. Lund received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, M.S. from the University of Northern Colorado, and her B.S. from Michigan State University.
